Cassie Ventura receives eight-figure settlement from Diddy after lawsuit

The lawsuit between  Cassie Ventura and Sean “Diddy” Combs was quietly settled out of court within one day, with both parties remaining silent about the settlement’s specifics.
However, following Diddy’s arrest on federal charges, including sex trafficking, details emerged via court documents that hint at the previously concealed terms which involve an “eight-figure settlement.”
Court papers indicated that a video allegedly showing Diddy assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway was central to the defense’s strategy, with claims it was illegally leaked to media outlets. Defense attorneys assert neither Cassie nor her legal representative had possession of the video during the civil litigation’s filing in late 2023.
The indictment points to the leaked footage while defense statements suggest: “Had either Victim 1 or her lawyer had the tape, the allegations in the civil complaint would have been entirely different and far more specific than they were.”
Previously, Cassie accused Diddy of several transgressions, from sex trafficking to sexual harassment, in her legal pursuit despite attempts by Diddy’s legal team, including Ben Brafman, to suggest she sought $30 million in blackmail money—an accusation countered by the ultimate settlement offer, reports The Mirror.
“After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships,” Ventura said in a statement at the time. She added: “With the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life.”
When the lawsuit was quickly settled, Brafman said in a statement: “Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs’ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

The latest court documents confirmed that Cassie accepted eight figures after she filed her lawsuit. However, it did not indicate the precise number or if the agreed check matched Diddy’s alleged original offer. Diddy continues to deny all allegations of wrongdoing against him, but he took “responsibility” for his actions seen in the leaked video.
