This lovely, late 1800’s Victorian, 4 piece costume consists of a 2 color, (purple & green) 2 layer velour elastic waist skirt, with a built in bustle, a sheer, lavender, elastic waist crinoline, and a purple & green floral velveteen jacket, that snaps in the front, and is trimmed with green ribbon trim.
Included is a hand decorated, poly satin picture hat.
Sized a medium, measurements as follows:
Bust-36″-38″, waist of the jacket is 30″ ( there is no stretch to the velveteen jacket)
Shoulder-13 1/2″
Skirt Waist-24″-32″
Hip-Free
Skirt length-42″
Picture #5 shows the gathering in the back to form a “bustle”. The over skirt, and 2 layers of ruffles, combined with the fact that the skirt is velour, makes this a heavy costume.
If for theater, it may not be suitable for a character who has to dance, but otherwise, it’s a very lovely piece, in excellent condition.
It washes in the machine, and dries in the dryer. (The crinoline should be drip dried)
One note- the hat is a bit faded, (but evenly). The brim is a slightly different color than the crown, but it all works. The color combinations are pretty.
